Responsibilities
Experimental Preparation: Prepare critical testing supplies and maintain inventory for ongoing research projects
Inoculum & Culturing: Culture inoculum and manage plant pathogens, specifically focusing on fungi and soil-borne organisms
Plant Care: Execute planting, routine plant care, and maintenance within growth chambers
Disease Assessment: Perform inoculation procedures and conduct detailed disease assessments to gather high-quality data
Laboratory Maintenance: Ensure routine cleaning and sterilization of labs and growth chambers to meet strict research protocols
Qualification
Required
Bachelor of Science in Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering or a related technical field
Hands-on experience with lab techniques such as Chromatography and Chemical Synthesis
Proven track record in an undergraduate or professional research lab setting
Ability to utilize automated systems, such as OT-2 pipetting robots, for precise volumetric control
Familiarity with Microsoft Office, Python, and data entry tools
Preferred
Experience in plant pathology, nematology, or general plant care
Proficiency in sterile techniques and the culturing of fungi
Ability to work in varied environments, ranging from dusty or warm growth chambers to strictly clean rooms
