Responsibilities

Follow procedures to safely produce and package batches of chemical products that meet quality specifications
Follows all company, plant policies & practices to ensure safety, quality, service, and cost objectives are met
Utilize automated control systems along with manual operations to operate process equipment
Weigh and accurately charge various chemicals to process vessels
Work with various types of equipment to produce adhesives (e.g. pumps, filters, solids handing unit, packaging machines, reactors and mixers, etc.)
Apply critical thinking to identify, troubleshoot and diagnose process and equipment issues
Perform light maintenance, prepare equipment for others to safely perform maintenance and issue work permits
Complete batch related documentation and productions entries in SAP system
Perform daily housekeeping tasks and maintain an organized work environment
Perform other tasks as assigned by supervision
Ability to respond to emergency situations within the limits of training and qualifications
Ability to work as a team, and respond to call outs and work overtime as needed
Commitment to safe and environmentally responsible operation of all aspects of a batch chemical process
Operate Fork Truck, pallet jacks and other equipment to move/relocate materials

Required

Must be at least 18 years of age and must have and maintain a valid driver's license
High school diploma, equivalent, or a satisfactory work record is required
Must be able to read, write, and verbally communicate in English
Must be able to calculate various measurements using basic math skills
Ability to perform the essential physical functions of the position including climbing stairs and ladders, lift 55 pounds, connecting hoses, operating manual valves, wearing FRC and full-face respirator (Clean-shaven)

Preferred

Prior Chemical Operator or Fork Truck experience preferred; additional training will be provided
