Cultural Survival is a nonprofit organization focused on the advancement and defense of Indigenous People’s rights, lands, languages, and cultures. They are seeking a Bazaar Communications Intern for Summer 2026 to research and write articles that increase the visibility of Bazaar initiatives and capture the voices of Indigenous vendors.

Responsibilities

Research and write engaging news articles related to Bazaar activities, initiatives, and relevant topics
Develop content for the CS Quarterly (CSQ) that aligns with our organizational voice, mission, and current Bazaar-related efforts
Collaborate with the Bazaar Manager to identify key story angles and priority topics
Conduct brief interviews or outreach (as needed) to gather insights or quotes from vendors, stakeholders, or staff
Follow internal style guidelines and ensure clarity, consistency, and accuracy in all written content
Participate in regular check-ins with the Bazaar Manager to review progress and receive feedback
Manage time effectively to meet drafting, editing, and submission deadlines
Contribute to the development of a content calendar or article plan for the internship period

Required

Entry-level experience
Self-motivated candidate based in the Boston, MA or Providence, RI area
Strong interest in storytelling, journalism, and communications
Fluency in English and Spanish is highly desired
Ability to produce clear, engaging, and purpose-driven articles for internal and external audiences
Ability to communicate complex ideas in a concise and accessible way
Experience in editorial planning and content development
Time management and self-organization skills
Ability to research and write engaging news articles
Ability to develop content for the CS Quarterly (CSQ)
Ability to collaborate with the Bazaar Manager to identify key story angles and priority topics
Ability to conduct brief interviews or outreach to gather insights or quotes
Ability to follow internal style guidelines and ensure clarity, consistency, and accuracy in all written content
Ability to manage time effectively to meet drafting, editing, and submission deadlines
Ability to contribute to the development of a content calendar or article plan for the internship period
Willingness to dedicate an average of 15 hours per week to the project
