WV Departments of Human Services is seeking an Accounting Technician III with the Bureau for Public Health. The role involves auditing medical invoices for accuracy and compliance, managing vendor files, and ensuring proper documentation for financial operations.

Responsibilities
Ensuring every medical invoice is mathematically precise and fully HIPAA compliant
Meticulously auditing billing records and processing them directly through the wvOasis State Financial System
Maintaining comprehensive documentation to support a clear audit trail
Managing a master vendor file to track payment history
Providing essential updates to both internal and external partners
Recording patient payment information into supplemental databases
Empowering program staff to monitor authorized services effectively
Resolving outstanding financial issues using a state purchasing card
Aligning work with established State and Department policies
Qualification
Required
Graduation from a standard four-year high school or the equivalent
Three years of full time or equivalent part time paid bookkeeping, accounting or related experience
Successful completion of college-level accounting courses from a regionally accredited college or university may be substituted at the rate of three semester hours equals six months experience
Successful completion of related business school or vocational training may be substituted for the experience through an established formula
