Project Billing Accountant
Trident Consulting is a global leader in business and technology services, seeking a Project Billing Accountant to support factory and field service projects. The role involves accurate project accounting, customer invoicing, accounts receivable management, and financial reporting, working closely with Project Managers and a small finance team.

Responsibilities
Assemble, track, and analyze monthly project costs for 15–20 Factory and Field Service projects
Monitor cost and revenue alignment and provide accurate financial data to Project Managers
Ensure compliance with internal accounting policies, including revenue recognition requirements
Create, maintain, and close project numbers in Microsoft SL (Solomon)
Prepare monthly project financial statements and profitability reports
Prepare, review, and issue customer invoices in accordance with contractual terms
Generate pro forma invoices for Time & Material (T&M) projects prior to month-end for client review
Resolve invoice discrepancies efficiently to ensure timely billing
Produce monthly invoices for completed Factory Work and Field Service projects
Prepare AR-related journal entries and perform monthly AR reconciliations
Lead customer collections communications and monitor aging reports
Identify delinquent accounts, flag collection risks, and provide insights into cash flow trends
Partner with Project Managers to resolve payment discrepancies
Perform ad-hoc financial analysis to support operational and business needs
Support special finance-related projects as assigned, ensuring accuracy and timeliness
Qualification
Required
3–5 years of experience in project accounting, billing, and accounts receivable
Strong understanding of accounting principles and revenue alignment
Proven experience with month-end close activities (journal entries, AR reconciliations)
Proven experience with contract-based invoicing and T&M billing
Proven experience with financial reporting and project profitability analysis
Ability to produce clear, accurate financial reports
Preferred
Experience with Microsoft SL (Solomon)
Experience with Concur
Experience with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook)
Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills
Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (Equivalent experience will be considered for the right candidate)
