IMRP Faculty, Internal Medicine Residency Program - Loyola Medicine, Mac Neal Hospital
Loyola Medicine MacNeal Hospital is a 400-bed teaching community hospital in Berwyn, Illinois, seeking an IMRP Faculty member for their Internal Medicine Residency Program. The role involves teaching residents in both inpatient and outpatient settings, participating in program management, and contributing to the strategic development of the residency program.

Responsibilities
Dedicate at least 4-8 hours per week to the administrative and educational aspects of the educational program
Participate in academic societies and in educational programs designed to enhance their educational and administrative skills
Teaches residents in both inpatient and outpatient clinical settings and through faculty-led conferences as appointed by the program director
Display intellectual curiosity and scholarly pursuit specifically in learning about graduate medical education, via the attendance of GME conferences hosted by AAIM, ACGME, SGIM or ACP, and conduct faculty development sessions to share lessons learned
Evaluates and identifies program needs, and contributes to the strategic development of the residency program
Expected to be here Monday to Friday 8-5
Communicate effectively with programmatic and institutional GME
Communicate with the Program Director regularly regarding the ambulatory aspects of residency program, support for the program and any potential issues
Serve as career counselor, advisor, liaison, and advocate for residents
3-4 half day Clinic resident-covered clinic per week, with the potential for increased numbers depending on faculty staffing
18-20 weeks of inpatient clinical service, to include at least 10-12 weekends of inpatient service
Participate in Annual Program evaluation
Precept residents in clinical outpatient
Ensure that evaluations are filled in timely and ensure feedback provided in a timely manner to
Ensure that adequate office support is provided for residents/fellows (i.e., assistance with editing publications)
Attend at least 80% of educational conferences involving resident education during scheduled Program Administrative time
Participate in at least one of the residency
Participate in resident recruitment by interviewing 10-15% of residency applicants
Participate in Research and /or QI (Quality improvement)
Lead /oversee one of the educational curricula of the program
Give 10-12 lectures in an academic year
Pursue faculty development designed to enhance their skills at least annually
10-12 weekends of Inpatient Service coverage with the IMRP group, covering 2 IMS teams on weekends
Evaluations through New Innovations as assigned, and Inpatient and Outpatient Billing as assigned
Providing overnight (phone) assistance and indirect supervision for residents if needed as assigned
Resident Advisor for 3 residents in the Internal Medicine Residency Program
Meetings every 6 months to discuss residency progress
Advocating for the resident within the program and for professional mentorship
Presenting resident advisees to the Clinical Competency Committee 4 times per year
Preparing Milestone evaluations for assigned resident advisees
Qualification
Required
Must be ABIM/AOBIM certified
Reports directly to the Program Director
