This role offers hands-on litigation experience, professional development, and the opportunity to manage your own caseload, develop defense strategies, and represent clients in hearings and trials.

Responsibilities
Handle Workers’ Compensation litigation from inception through resolution
Analyze legal and factual issues and conduct thorough legal research
Develop and execute effective defense strategies
Draft pleadings, discovery, motions, petitions, and briefs
Prepare and present witnesses and evidence at hearings, trials, arbitrations, and ADRs
Communicate effectively with courts, opposing counsel, witnesses, and internal partners
Manage a caseload of approximately 90–100 cases (including master and companion files)
Collaborate closely with Claims partners to achieve favorable outcomes
Participate in team meetings, case reviews, and ongoing legal training (CLE)
Qualification
Required
Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school
Licensed to practice law in California and in good standing
Strong legal research, writing, and analytical skills
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Teams, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
Excellent communication and negotiation skills
Collaborative, positive, and proactive mindset
Strong organizational and planning skills
Preferred
Legal internship or law clerk experience preferred
Familiarity with Workers' Compensation is a plus
