$15/hr - $15/hrNEOGOV is seeking interns for the Collin County Department of Public Health. The Public Health Intern will support the department by observing daily routines, conducting research, and maintaining professional relationships with various stakeholders.

Responsibilities
Compose and create reports, presentations, and analyze and solve any problems that arise
Create and maintain professional relationships with stakeholders, school districts, private organizations, non-profit groups, government agencies, nurses, and physicians
Conduct research on public health policies and guidelines, and evaluative components
Design and develop newsletters, forms, or documents
Review medical reports and/or surveillance data
Investigate reportable conditions
Collect and enter data into the system and develop reports
Maintain electronic health records and scan documents into the electronic health system
Provide customer service and information to with public via Public Health Care call center or medical reception
Purchase, receive, and track inventory of assets and items in the warehouse
Qualification
Required
Must possess the knowledge necessary to understand basic operational, technical, or office processes
Must have a level of education equivalent to four years of high school
Must be enrolled in Bachelors', Masters, or Doctorate level program from an accredited university/college program to be eligible for internship and receive education credit
Must be at least 18 years of age
Proficient computer skills
Ability to communicate clearly and effectively via written and oral communication
Ability to self-directed and work with limited supervision, if needed
Ability to adhere to Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act, (HIPAA)
Work requires analysis and judgement in accomplishing diversified duties
Internship allows opportunity to work independently within the limits of policies, standards, and precedents
This internship will last for no more than (6) months
