Subsea Hardware Team Manager

They are seeking a Subsea Hardware Team Manager to oversee the safe and efficient delivery of Subsea Hardware projects in their Houston, TX office while managing team resources and fostering a culture of technical excellence and safety.

Responsibilities
Ensure all activities performed by the Subsea Hardware Team are completed using the approved QMS processes and procedures, and promote technical excellence on projects
Assign and actively manage Subsea Hardware Team resources on both open and proposed projects
Function as primary point of contact both internally & externally for all Subsea Hardware related inquiries
Support planning and management of the execution of Subsea Hardware engineering activities and provide technical guidance/support during all phases of an engineering project (Concept, Pre-FEED, FEED, and Execution)
Drive HSSEA culture and performance through the Subsea Hardware Team
Support the regional leadership team to balance project, client and organization drivers for optimal organizational success
Identify and pursue innovation opportunities for discipline, including emerging technologies within the discipline area
Identify and pursue opportunities for margin enhancement
Maintain relationships with global Wood Subsea Hardware resources and assign GEC personnel to relevant work scopes
Support the development of GEC (Global Execution Center) personnel
Assist business development in understanding client needs, drivers, issues and business objectives in order to market and secure new or follow-on work scopes
As needed, lead competitive proposal generation, clarification and follow-up interface with clients to maximize Wood probability of successful project/contract award
Support the regional leadership team strategies, goals and initiatives as relevant
Line Management of direct reports, including: setting targets and objectives; pay reviews, performance reviews, career progression, training and development
Provide leadership, support and development to personnel within the team and others within Wood exploring a career path to hardware design and execution
Support recruitment, interviewing, selection, and induction of new personnel
Identification of competence gaps in discipline group and identify/organize technical training or on the job development to close gaps
Build an inclusive team culture which recognizes the value that different perspectives and cultures bring
Qualification
Required
Bachelors or Masters in Engineering (Mechanical, Structural, Subsea or relevant discipline)
Minimum of 10 years experience in Subsea Hardware design/testing/delivery, and managing Subsea Hardware engineering scopes
Ideally have 5 years in people management
Ability and experience working in a fast-track, dynamic project environment with enhanced decision-making responsibilities
Extensive experience and understanding of discipline tools and processes
Demonstrated understanding of business, industry and client drivers
Excellent communication (spoken and written) and interpersonal skills. Must have the ability to engage with a variety of stakeholders and lead a team
Excellent time management and prioritization ability, being able to balance the needs of multiple stakeholders
Must have a passion for Subsea Hardware and organizational success
Established relationships within Wood, client, industry a strong asset
