Aerospace Engineer
EVONA is seeking a skilled and motivated Satellite Operator to join their innovative space operations team. This role involves ensuring the smooth functioning of the satellite constellation through real-time monitoring, command execution, and anomaly support, directly contributing to mission success and space system integrity.
Responsibilities
Perform daily monitoring and command operations for satellites and the TT&C ground network
Monitor spacecraft health, respond to system alerts, and support troubleshooting efforts for both satellite and network components
Execute nominal and contingency command sequences to ensure spacecraft mission continuity
Support payload operations by executing imaging schedules and system readiness checks
Collaborate with engineering teams in anomaly investigations and assist in data collection and reporting
Monitor the performance of ground station networks and participate in satellite pass support activities
Track spacecraft performance trends, generate daily status reports, and support initial data analysis
Maintain shift documentation, contribute to briefings, and ensure operational continuity across handovers
Assist in writing and updating satellite operations procedures
Participate in ongoing team training and operations meetings
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in a STEM discipline such as Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Physics, Remote Sensing, or Computer Science
Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills
Exceptional attention to detail and commitment to operational excellence
Effective written and verbal communication skills
Flexibility and willingness to work rotating schedules, including holidays, weekends, and night shifts
Ability to obtain a U.S. Government security clearance
Preferred
Prior experience with satellite or spacecraft operations
Familiarity with scripting or programming, particularly Python
Experience working with Linux operating systems and cloud platforms such as AWS, GCP, or Azure
