Group Leader, Analytical Research & Development
Catalent is a leading global drug development and delivery organization, and they are seeking a Group Leader for their Analytical Research & Development team. In this role, you will oversee laboratory operations, guide analysts in their work, and implement process improvements to enhance product testing and release.

Responsibilities
Prepare and set the daily work schedule for the Analysts by working with the Project Management and Customers to determine business needs. Directs and motivates the Analysts to meet or exceed the needs of the organization
Guides the Analysts by setting Laboratory targets and by providing clear instruction and guidelines for performance. Supervises Laboratory personnel for the following activities: Analysis of finished products, in-process materials, fill moisture, raw materials, and cleaning verification and Validation samples according to the assigned specifications, methods, and protocols. Preparation of reagents/standards/medias needed for analysis according to established methods
Records actual performance against the time schedule. Monitors progress of work against expectations
Identifies and implements process improvements that will reduce cycle time to test and release products
Conducts and writes laboratory investigations using the appropriate Root Cause Analysis tools
Identifies deviations if any and taking appropriate actions. Reports anomalies to management. Interacts directly with customers, both internal and external
Maintains discipline within the organization through effective motivation which includes effective training, clear instructions, clear performance standards, consistent and timely assessment/evaluation against the standards, consistent and timely feedback, appropriate disciplinary actions, including preparation and implementation of development plans as appropriate
Provides project support for new product development and Supplier Qualification requiring a close working relationship directly with Customers as well as suppliers

Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in a scientific field with 10 years in lab; 9 in GMP
Master's degree in a scientific field with 8 years in lab; 6 in GMP
Doctorate in a scientific field with 5 years in lab; 3 in GMP
Minimum of 4 years in people management
Individual may be required to sit, stand, walk regularly and occasionally lift to 15 pounds; no lifting greater than 44.09 pounds without assistance
Be accessible to manufacturing floor and office staff and to use required office equipment
Vision requirements include ability to differentiate color (Pass the Ishihara Color Vision Screening) and obtain 20/30 acuity in both far and near vision with or without corrective lenses
