Responsibilities

Manage incoming calls by screening, routing, and responding to inquiries
Greet visitors and provide routine assistance or direction
Draft simple correspondence, emails, and internal communications
Prepare meeting materials, agendas, sign-in sheets, and basic presentations
Assist with scanning, copying, printing, and distributing documents
Schedule appointments and maintain calendars for assigned staff
Coordinate meetings, reserve conference rooms, and support logistics
Track deadlines, reminders, and routine administrative tasks
Maintain departmental files, records, and shared drives in accordance with DOE procedures
Monitor office supplies and support basic equipment use (printers, scanners, copiers)
Support general office workflow to ensure smooth daily operations
Serve as backup support for the front office or correspondence control center
Organize, update, and maintain electronic and physical filing systems
Ensure accuracy and completeness of administrative documents
Assist with data entry, basic tracking logs, and document control

Required

High School Diploma or GED
Minimum 1 year of administrative or office support experience
Strong organizational and time management skills

Experience with general office equipment (printers, scanners, copiers)
Attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
Ability to work professionally with staff, visitors, and external partners

Preferred

Experience supporting federal or government offices
Familiarity with DOE administrative processes
Experience with shared drives or basic database entry
