Responsibilities
Bench and fit band saws and circular (round) saws
Maintain Micarta and Babbitt guides
Service and maintain saw filing equipment
Sharpen and maintain chipper knives
Perform precision center alignments on saws
Transport saws to and from machine centers
Change out saws at machine centers as needed
Repair or discard damaged saws according to standards
Perform other related duties as assigned
Qualification
Required
2+ years of experience with saw filing
Strong commitment to safety values and expertise with LOTO
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of an organization
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form
Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations
Ability and willingness to join and maintain good standing in the Western States Regional Council of Carpenters (required)
