Responsibilities

Define risk management policies for American Express portfolios
Support the success of American Express through innovative solutions that help identify and mitigate credit risk throughout the customer lifecycle
Leverage advanced quantitative expertise to drive disciplined risk decisions across the business cycle
Manage write-offs, evaluate risk trade-offs, and deliver insights that support outstanding customer experience and strong business performance

Required

Bachelor's degree plus 2 years of relevant work experience, or master's degree in a quantitative field such as Econometrics, Statistics, Mathematics, Operations Research, Engineering, or Computer Science
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to translate data into strategic insights
Proficiency in handling large datasets using SQL, Python, or a similar programming language
Demonstrated blend of analytical expertise, process improvement skills, and collaborative relationship-building
Ability to think strategically and apply quantitative methods and business acumen to drive meaningful outcomes
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with attention to clarity and precision

Preferred

Advanced degree preferred but not required, given a suitable combination of formal education and experience
Prior experience in credit or fraud risk management with a solid understanding of the credit lifecycle
Familiarity with regulatory and audit frameworks related to credit risk governance
Familiarity with data visualization tools is a plus
