As a Literacy Instructor, you will work directly with students to enhance their reading, math, and financial literacy skills, fostering a supportive and engaging learning environment.

Responsibilities

Facilitate engaging, small-group and whole-group instruction focused on reading comprehension, foundational math, and financial literacy concepts
Connect literacy and numeracy skills to everyday money topics such as saving, spending, budgeting, and goal setting
Create a safe, structured, and affirming learning environment that supports diverse learning styles and energy levels
Use interactive activities, discussion, and real-world examples to keep students engaged
Support students in building confidence, discipline, and positive learning habits
Track attendance, participation, and basic learning progress using provided tools
Communicate clearly with program staff and caregivers as needed
Participate in training, team meetings, and reflection sessions to improve instructional delivery

Required

Experience teaching, tutoring, or supporting students in reading and/or math
Comfort introducing basic financial literacy concepts to students
Ability to maintain a structured classroom environment with high energy students
Reliable transportation within Central Florida
Availability during weekdays; occasional evenings or weekends may be required
Completion of required background screening
Respect for the lived experiences, cultures, and environments of the students we serve

Preferred

Experience working with youth from ALICE households or economically marginalized communities preferred
