Subject Matter Expert (Data Development-Tactical Operations and Weapons Specialist)-Journeyman

The Subject Matter Expert (Data Development-Tactical Operations and Weapons Specialist)-Journeyman will support Battlespace Modeling & Simulation, working closely with software development teams and applying tactical knowledge to enhance military training simulations.

Responsibilities
Assists a software development team in developing an advanced synthetic training environment to support military pilot training
Applies tactical knowledge to support the development of entity models
Performs analysis on a wide range of red and blue force systems
Works with software programmers to develop and refine simulation presentation of real-world parametric data
Performs translation of intelligence data into a descriptive and behavioral modeling and simulation language for development and test
Conducts specific technical duties on NGTS
Performs threat system analysis and sensor modeling of weapons and their associated platforms, electro-optical and infrared (EO/IR) systems and various other military systems
Conducts specific sensor research, analysis, correlation and assessment to reproduce the sensor as a software model using a suite of NGTS data editing tools
Participates in software test activities (test procedure creation and test plan development)
Understands and discusses simulation requirements with the customers and documents/tracks these requirements
Provides technical input to modelers with regards to fidelity, accuracy and intended use
Acts as liaison with aircrew and program leads
Qualification
Required
HS Diploma or equivalent
8 years of relevant work experience
Tactical military aviation experience in Fighter, Attack, Patrol, Support or Rotary wing platforms
Basic understanding of EW realm and the Electronic Order of Battle
Basic understanding of threat system analysis
Basic understanding of weapon types and basic engagement profiles for Air-to-Air, Air-to-Ground and Surface-to-Air models
Knowledge of sensor employment, Tactics, Techniques and Procedures (TTPs) in an EW and/or ISR operational or combat environment
Attention to detail and willingness to receive instructions/lessons learned
The ability to apply knowledge gained to support the Data Development Team's goal of creating accurate data modeling through continually evolving detailed testing efforts (based on what the end user-Warfighter-would expect)
The ability to maintain a DoD Secret Security Clearance-Holds final Secret eligibility
Preferred
Experience as an Electronic Warfare Operator, Flag Plot Analyst, Threat Training SME and/or MPRA Acoustic
Knowledge of XML files
Experience with NGTS
Experience supporting model and simulation efforts
Experience performing software testing
