Responsibilities
Process payroll accurately and on time for all drivers
Respond to driver inquiries regarding pay, deductions, and benefits with patience and clarity
Maintain daily communication with drivers to address payroll questions and concerns
Review and verify timesheets, mileage reports, and other payroll documentation
Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll regulations
Maintain accurate payroll records and employee files
Resolve payroll discrepancies promptly and professionally
Collaborate with HR and accounting departments on payroll-related matters
Qualification
Required
High school diploma or equivalent; Associate's or Bachelor's degree preferred
2+ years of payroll processing experience
Strong knowledge of payroll systems and procedures
Proficiency with payroll software and Microsoft Office Suite
Understanding of relevant labor laws and tax regulations
Excellent attention to detail and numerical accuracy
Friendly and approachable demeanor – Must create a welcoming atmosphere when interacting with drivers
Exceptional patience – Ability to remain calm and helpful when addressing repetitive questions or concerns
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Active listening skills and empathy
Ability to explain complex payroll information in simple terms
Professional and respectful interaction style
Preferred
CPP (Certified Payroll Professional) certification
Experience in the transportation or logistics industry
Bilingual abilities (English/Spanish preferred)
Customer service or call center experience
