Responsibilities
Develop core machine control logic for industrial edge devices (e.g. PLCs, IPCs)
Design, simplify and continuously improve system controls architecture including machine control code, networking, electrical design and safety design
Identify and implement system optimizations
Integrate control systems with a diverse array of sensors, actuators, motors, and software services
Work closely with deployment teams to implement end-to-end solutions in the field
30% travel expected to support onsite system testing
Qualification
Required
4+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
2+ years of designing or architecting (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
Experience programming with at least one modern language such as Python, Ruby, Golang, Java, C++, C#, Rust
2+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience, or Bachelor's degree in engineering or equivalent
Experience in hardware mechatronics development
2+ years of experience in embedded software development for mechatronic systems
Preferred
Bachelor's degree in Engineering
Knowledge of network design, protocols and troubleshooting
Experience with AWS products and services
Experience with Industrial control systems, both hardware and software
Experience with Linux/Unix
Experience with CI/CD pipelines build processes
Experience communicating with users, other technical teams, and management to collect requirements, describe software product features, and technical designs
Experience leading and influencing your team or organization, or experience debugging, profiling, and implementing best software engineering practices in large-scale systems
Experience completing complex tasks quickly with little to no guidance and react with appropriate urgency to situations that require a quick turnaround, or experience in a fast-paced, high-tech company
Experience writing and publishing technical documents or equivalent
Can travel and relocate as appropriate
Experience with TWINCAT or CODESYS
