Punch Operator: 4th shift; Friday-Sunday 6am-6:30pm
Skills Inc., one of Washington State’s largest aerospace suppliers, is seeking a Punch Operator to join their team. The role involves identifying materials, operating punch press equipment, and ensuring quality through inspections and measurements.

Responsibilities
Load and unload programs for the punch press for the turret punch
Load and unload quick blank tools for the punch press
Set up punch with proper tooling, operate, monitor, and record operational data for Punch and Brake equipment without supervision
Perform first part inspection and in-process inspections
Measure completed work pieces to verify conformance to specifications, using micrometers, gauges, calipers, templates, steel rules, or rulers
Examine completed work pieces for defects, such as chipped edges or marred surfaces, and sort defective pieces according to types of flaws
Read work orders or production schedules to determine specifications, such as materials to be used, locations of cutting lines, or dimensions and tolerances
Clean and lubricate machines
Position, align, and secure work pieces against fixtures or stops on machine beds or on dies
Identify opportunities for process improvement and increased efficiency
Qualification
Required
Ability to read, write, and communicate in English through verbal communication, American Sign Language, or adaptive technology

Preferred
Knowledge of Punch, Brake, and Sheer equipment, capability, and daily maintenance
Basic computer skills, including experience with Microsoft Office products
Ability to identify potential issues with machinery, parts, or process
Skill in basic mathematical skills to the work environment (such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division using whole numbers)
Ability to identify hazardous materials and working conditions and apply the proper safety precautions and PPE required for each
Ability to identify, organize, estimate, and recognize differences or similarities with excellent attention to detail
High school diploma or equivalent
One to three (1-3) years related experience and/or training or equivalent education/experience
