Senior Sys Admin / Site Reliability Engineer (SRE)

Responsibilities

Develop a deep understanding of No-IP’s products, infrastructure, architecture, and business needs
Build, operate, and maintain compute infrastructure, including virtualization platforms, networking, web servers, and supporting systems such as databases, mail, logging, analytics, certificate management and caching components
Maintain and evolve infrastructure in an automation-first environment
Proactively modernize infrastructure by identifying single points of failure, retiring legacy systems, and aligning platforms with best practices
Operationalize new technologies in development and production in a scalable, maintainable manner. Evaluate technologies and advise teams on effective usage
Own application delivery and supporting platforms, including the website, customer and admin portals, and internal tools such as Metabase, Kibana, and Grafana
Provide technical leadership and mentorship across the infrastructure domain

Required

Strong experience in Ubuntu-based environments, including command-line usage, shell scripting, git, SSH, systemd, iptables, debugging tools, and core Linux concepts (file permissions, inodes, sockets, networking)
Hands-on experience with tools such as Salt, Terraform, or similar systems
Experience operating bare-metal and virtualized Linux environments alongside cloud providers, including compute, storage, and networking
Experience with Linux virtualization; familiarity with Proxmox, Docker, and Docker Compose preferred
Ability to write and deploy scripts and small to medium-sized programs, with an emphasis on security, observability and maintainability
Proven responsibility for multiple infrastructure domains (e.g., networking, DNS, platform services, or multi-datacenter environments), including architectural decision-making and maintainability-focused engineering

Familiarity with Proxmox, Docker, and Docker Compose preferred
