Senior Manufacturing Engineer (Onsite)

Responsibilities

Review and validate design data, including drawings and bills of material, to support rework of test and production articles
Create, compile, and maintain Seat Rework Orders (SRO’s) and work instructions based on scopes of work and engineering changes
Partner closely with design, project, and quality engineers to clarify requirements and resolve ambiguous data
Serve as a technical advisor to engineering technicians, recommending methods, tools, and sequencing to ensure high-quality execution
Analyze designs and develop component layouts and assembly approaches
Review test plans and create or support 3D models for complex test setups and rework activities
Support strain gage and test configuration reviews for practicality and manufacturability
Diagnose and resolve issues related to test article rework, build defects, and nonconformances
Provide guidance to manufacturing sites on build issues and potential corrective actions
Coach and review the work of less-experienced engineers and technicians
Contribute to continuous improvement efforts, including future opportunities to design fixtures, improve processes, and simplify technician execution

Required

Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and minimum 5 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years of experience

Preferred

Degree in Manufacturing or Mechanical Engineering
Experience working with Teamcenter strongly preferred
Experience reviewing Statement of Work
Experience designing mechanical fixtures
Experience or an understanding of a certification process
