Bioinformatics Analyst I (Part-Time)

Responsibilities
Conducts research activities and supports data analysis efforts
Performs data analysis from animal and cell line experiments, including statistical analyses and interpretation of results
Analyzes complex datasets such as proteomics, RNA-seq, and metabolomics using appropriate computational and statistical tools
Writes and maintains code for data processing, analysis, and visualization
Prepares research documentation and materials
Prepares high-quality figures, tables, and visualizations for manuscripts, presentations, and grant progress reports using tools such as PowerPoint, Excel, and GraphPad Prism
Assists with drafting sections of manuscripts, abstracts, and grant or regulatory progress reports
Conducts laboratory-based research activities
Performs routine laboratory experiments as needed, including cell culture, transfections, and Western blotting
Maintains accurate and organized records of laboratory experiments and data analyses in accordance with lab and institutional standards
Supports research projects funded through extramural grants by contributing to data analysis and reporting requirements
Works with large, complex biological datasets requiring integration of computational and experimental approaches
Ensures compliance with research documentation and data management standards
Provides flexible research support across both computational and wet-lab components of ongoing projects
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Genetics, Biology, Bioinformatics, Biostatistics, Computational Biology, Computer Science, or a related field
No experience required
Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States at the time of application and throughout the duration of employment
Preferred
Master's degree in a related field
Experience with statistical data analysis and multi-omics datasets (proteomics, RNA-seq, metabolomics)
Prior laboratory experience, including cell culture, transfections, and Western blotting
Experience with scientific writing, including manuscripts, abstracts, or grant-related reports
