Responsibilities
Work with the software team to understand our order processing systems and data flows across multiple platforms
Design, build, and deploy a microservice that fits into a larger software ecosystem
Learn the software development lifecycle from design and architecture through implementation, testing, and deployment
Gain hands-on experience integrating AI tools into a production software development workflow
Participate in code review to develop an eye for code quality and software best practices
Engage daily with your mentor and team members to iterate on design decisions and deliver a maintainable solution
Build on your work incrementally, starting with foundational tasks and progressing toward a complete service
Qualification
Required
Currently pursuing a college degree in software engineering or related field
Interest in the software development lifecycle
Great communication skills
Enjoy collaborating with others
Comfortable programming in Python
Familiarity with Django, REST APIs, and SQL databases
Familiar with version control such as Git
Comfortable working with Docker and containerized environments
Curious about AI-assisted development tools
Eager to explore how AI tools fit into real workflows
Ability to debug issues in code
Understanding of the importance of documentation and testing
Ability to ask for help if progress is affected
Preferred
Experience with or exposure to React, Redux, and frontend development
Worked on projects that apply software solutions to real-world problems
