Supplier Quality Engineer - Intermediate

Responsibilities

Assess potential new suppliers for technical, quality, and manufacturing capabilities
Provide technical support for the introduction of components from new suppliers
Develop, generate, and maintain incoming inspection procedures and train inspectors accordingly
Develop or source appropriate inspection tools and equipment
Assist in the development of component specifications
Generate test protocols, monitor testing activities, issue qualification test reports, and approve components for use in products
Provide input to Design Engineering on new component technologies and assist with component selection through quality and reliability analysis
Analyze incoming material defects, determine disposition, and drive corrective actions as required
Communicate quality issues and corrective actions to suppliers
Review new design specifications and provide feedback from a component quality and manufacturability perspective
Investigate field failures related to supplier materials and develop corrective action plans when necessary
May lead project teams of moderate scope and provide guidance to less experienced staff

Required

Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related scientific field
Minimum 2+ years of relevant experience
Strong communication skills
Experience with CAPA (Corrective and Preventive Actions)
Ability to work effectively in a regulated quality system environment

Bachelor's degree in Engineering
Experience supporting supplier change notifications and corrective actions
Strong supplier communication and project support experience
