HR Administrator (Campus Support)
The Research Foundation for SUNY is the largest comprehensive university-connected research foundation in the country. The HR Administrator will provide support to the Corporate Human Resources Administration function, offering guidance on HR issues, collaborating with campus partners, and emphasizing classification and compensation functions.
Responsibilities
Provide consultation and expert guidance on a wide range of human resources matters, including but not limited to compensation, classification, salary, and wage regulations
Maintain a working knowledge of all human resources functions to ensure effective cross-functional support
Develop and deliver training programs for campus human resources staff
Demonstrate proficiency in the Oracle HRIS, including the ability to run reports and queries relevant to the role
Monitor and evaluate legislative, regulatory and other legal developments as they relate to this role
Research market compensation data and trends, analyze internal salary information and develop recommendations regarding the annual corporate salary plan, outlining assessment of campus impact
Develop, maintain, and manage compensation-related content for the RF’s website, ensuring appropriate review, approval, and publication
Monitor campus salary plan implementation and collaborate with campus partners on development and administration, as needed
Provide guidance to campuses on the determination of exempt and non-exempt status, classification of independent contractor designations, and employee categories
Review job descriptions to provide campuses with internal and external compensation data as well as suggest corresponding RF position title, as requested
Conduct internal and external pay equity analysis as needed when providing guidance for salary changes, bonus/lump sum payment, and compliance with wage/hour requirements, as needed
Complete compensation surveys
Maintain and manage compensation data within the Oracle HRIS
Develop and maintain position standards
Proactively assist campuses to ensure salaries comply with wage/hour requirements and RF compensation structure
Update and maintain orientation checklists and other onboarding documents
Maintain corporate LinkedIn account, position positions as needed
Assist campuses with onboarding process/procedures to ensure they meet compliance with RF Policies/Procedures, including employment applications, offer letters, etc…
Maintain documentation around offer letters
Provide guidance regarding Form I-9
Provide guidance regarding work authorization with the RF
Keep abreast of regulatory changes impacting the HR function
Work with the HRA team to coordinate the Human Resources Officers’ meeting, serving as a main point of contact for the meeting
Take and maintain HR meeting minutes and materials
Participate in corporate initiatives and cross functional teams
Assist campuses with other employment monitoring, as needed
Provide backup support
Other duties and special projects as assigned
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree and 1 to 2 years' experience in HR or equivalent combination of education and experience
Strong attention to detail
Exceptional customer service skills
Strong knowledge of wage and hour laws, particularly in determining exemption status and ensuring compliance with overtime requirements
Ability to analyze complex compensation data
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Self-starter with the ability to prioritize workflow and complete multiple tasks simultaneously and accurately
Knowledge of federal and state employment regulations
Ability to be flexible and adapt to a changing environment
Ability to make connections between different aspects of HR
Ability to present information in a clear, logical, and easy-to-understand way
Experience with Microsoft office suite
Preferred
Strong Human Resources generalist, with demonstrated knowledge of compensation and classification practices preferred
Experience with HRIS preferred
