Responsibilities
Drafting, reviewing, and negotiating a diverse range of agreements, and filing comprehensive complaints and airtight responses
Working closely with a team to prepare comprehensive briefs and motions on each case that goes to trial; preparing persuasive motions
Interfacing with clients about discovery, depositions, trial preparation, and other case-related work
Conducting depositions and discovery; performing industry research on legal matters related to specific matters, as well applicable legislation; and
Making frequent court appearances, hearings, and pre-trial conferences
Qualification
Required
3+ years of experience and admission in good standing with the California State Bar
Prior insurance defense experience including substantive law and motion practice
Conducting and defending depositions (parties, witnesses, experts)
Discovery and related motions
Court appearances
Familiarity with insurer reporting requirements
Familiarity with insurance policies (GL, D&O, E&O, etc.) and insurer requirements
Excellent oral advocacy and written communication skills
Strong research, writing and analytical skills
Excellent academic credentials
Able to handle your own caseload
