Responsibilities
Teaching four courses per fiscal year in first-year writing and/or technical communication
Developing and managing the WCP course schedule in collaboration with program leadership and the Registrar's Office
Contributing to faculty mentoring, orientation, and professional preparation
Collaborating on program assessment and curricular development
Serving on committees at the program, college, and Institute level
Engaging with relevant scholarship in writing studies and/or writing program administration
Performing other duties as assigned in support of program needs
Qualification
Required
PhD in English, Rhetoric and Composition, or a closely related field by the start of the appointment
Minimum of five years of experience teaching writing and/or technical communication at the postsecondary level
Minimum of one year of experience in an administrative role
Preferred
Demonstrated intellectual commitment to writing pedagogy and/or writing program administration
Experience teaching multimodal writing
Experience with academic scheduling and curricular logistics
Experience in writing program administration or comparable leadership roles
Ability to promote an inclusive and welcoming educational/work environment
Ability to adopt teaching strategies that support the learning and success of all students
Ability to engage in high-impact practices that support deep learning for student success
