Software Engineer (JSE)
Tangram Flex is seeking a Software Engineer to support the development, integration, and sustainment of advanced Joint Simulation Environment (JSE) capabilities for the U.S. Air Force. The engineer will be responsible for designing, developing, testing, and delivering complex software systems that drive next-generation simulation and training solutions within the Air Force enterprise.

Responsibilities
Design, develop, and test software components and systems supporting JSE capabilities
Participate in the full software development lifecycle (SDLC)—from requirements analysis through development, integration, verification, and sustainment
Contribute to the architecture and system design for scalable and maintainable software solutions
Develop and optimize simulation software to support mission support, training, and analysis environments
Work closely with other engineers, system integrators, and Air Force stakeholders to ensure technical accuracy and alignment with program goals
Apply agile and DevSecOps practices for code integration, testing, and delivery
Maintain adherence to DoD cybersecurity, software assurance, and configuration management standards
Qualification
Required
Active DoD Security Clearance or held within the last 12 months
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience)
3+ years of professional experience in software engineering or system development
Proficiency in one or more programming languages such as C++, Python, or Java
Experience with software design, development, integration, and testing in complex system environments
Understanding of software version control (Git) and collaborative development workflows
Strong problem-solving and analytical skills with attention to detail
Preferred
Prior experience supporting Department of Defense (DoD) or Air Force projects, especially in modeling, simulation, or training domains
Familiarity with JSE architecture, flight simulation frameworks, or real-time systems
Experience with DevSecOps pipelines, Agile/Scrum practices, and CI/CD environments
Knowledge of Linux-based systems, containerization (Docker/Kubernetes), or cloud-based environments
