Responsibilities
Develop and modify civil design deliverables, including site grading, drainage, and utility plans
Use Civil 3D, MicroStation, and related digital design tools (CAD/BIM/3D) to produce accurate technical documentation
Apply established engineering standards, design practices, and document control procedures
Perform design calculations, material quantity takeoffs, and basic cost estimates
Review design inputs and deliverables for accuracy, consistency, and code compliance
Coordinate with engineering and design teams to support design development and schedules
Provide technical guidance to junior technicians and support quality control efforts
Support continuous improvement initiatives and field activities as required
Qualification
Required
5+ years of related technical or civil design experience
Advanced experience with Autodesk Civil 3D, including proposed grading surfaces and plan development
Experience supporting Grid substation or utility infrastructure projects
Strong understanding of engineering standards, document control, and applicable codes
Ability to handle moderately complex technical assignments with minimal supervision
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Diploma or Certificate required
Preferred
Associate Degree in Drafting or Engineering Design Technology
