The intern will engage in experimental design, develop advanced analytics, and collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams to enhance the Roche Nanopore Sequencing platform.

Responsibilities
Design and implement experiments on Roche sequencers to test the boundaries of our microfluidic devices and reagents
Develop and apply advanced statistical models to analyze spatial and temporal variability, system robustness, and signal-to-noise ratios
Help monitor and diagnose complex interfaces between instrument hardware and biological reagents
Work across diverse functional teams (Sensors, Reagents, and Instrumentation) to translate raw data into actionable engineering improvements
Visualize and communicate complex data exploration results to stakeholders, delivering what patients need next
Qualification
Required
Must be pursuing a Bachelor's Degree (enrolled student)
Must have attained a Bachelor's Degree (not currently enrolled in a graduate program)
Must be pursuing a Master's Degree (enrolled student)
Must have attained a Master's Degree
Biochemistry, chemistry, materials discipline, computer science, electrical engineering, biomolecular engineering, chemical engineering, statistics, or a related discipline with a background in molecular biology or biochemistry
Ability to perform statistical analysis of data with programs such as JMP, Matlab, R
Familiar with computer programming in languages such as Python
Familiarity with NGS space
Excellent troubleshooting and problem solving skills, along with experimental design experience
Excellent communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills
Preferred
Prefer understanding of or experience of causal inference, DOEs, and statistical modeling
Prefer understanding of or experience with microfluidics, sequencing methodologies, or other wet laboratory instrumentation
Prefer understanding of or experience with high-performance computing environments
