Senior Facilities Technician

NEOGOV is seeking a Senior Facilities Technician to maintain assigned City facilities and grounds. The role involves performing various maintenance tasks including plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and general repairs, as well as overseeing project scheduling and contributing to preventative maintenance programs.

Responsibilities

Complete work orders as assigned and manage work order status using maintenance management software system. Input data as needed for inventory control and preventative maintenance scheduling
Inspect buildings and grounds to determine functional systems and detect malfunctions and needed repairs
Perform minor electrical maintenance including replacement or repair of wall switches, outlets, breakers and light fixtures using appropriate hand, power and specialty tools
Perform minor plumbing maintenance including replacement or repair of leaks in drains and faucets, unclogging of drains, trenching and laying new lines, replacing drain hoses on washers and similar devices to provide operable and efficient plumbing capabilities
Perform minor painting, carpentry and masonry work including preparing surfaces and using brush, sprayer, or roller to apply paints, stains, and varnishes, hanging doors, fitting locks and handles to provide operable and efficient facilities
Perform basic HVAC repair and preventative maintenance including, but not limited to: air filter replacements, coil cleaning, fan motor replacements, adjusting thermostats and managing the energy management software system to sustain comfortable temperatures and proper equipment operation
Remove snow and ice from assigned facilities
Acts as primary Facilities Division representative to the Public Safety Complex
Contribute to the development and implementation of preventative maintenance programs

Required

High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required
Two (2) to four (4) years experience in construction or maintenance or any equivalent combination of training and experience required
Knowledge of general construction tools and equipment and safe work practices
Proficiency with Microsoft Office including MS Word and Excel
Knowledge of methods, techniques, tools and the operational characteristics of mechanical equipment used in the general construction and maintenance of landscaped areas and facilities
Ability to troubleshoot and problem solve maintenance issues as they arise
Ability to follow set guidelines, rules and safety procedures and apply them in daily situations
This position is subject to non-standard working hours including nights, weekends, and holidays
Current Colorado driver's license with acceptable record
Successful Criminal Information Services Certification Required within 90 days of hire date
Ability to perform heavy manual labor required
Strenuous physical work requiring ability to lift a maximum of 100 pounds, frequent lifting, carrying, walking and standing and hand/eye coordination required
Frequently required to climb, work at heights, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl
Occasional hand/eye coordination for operation of equipment; vision for reading and preparing written reports and documents; frequent speech communication, hearing and listening to maintain communications with employees and citizens
Inside and outside work, with exposure to outside elements
Driving and walking during inclement weather required
Frequent exposure to paint, chemicals, heights (building roofs, etc.) and dusty environments
Occasional exposure to loud noise

Retirement Plan: A defined contribution investment program for non-sworn employees. The City will match dollar for dollar up to 8% of your gross base wages. Sworn Police Officers are enrolled in a defined benefit investment program through FPPA.
Paid Holidays: The following holidays are observed by the majority of City Offices.
Paid Vacation and Sick Leave: Employees will receive vacation time each pay period after the first six (6) months of employment. Employees begin earning sick leave immediately.
