Cherry Creek School District is seeking a Before and After School Assistant Director to assist in planning and implementing the child care program. The role involves supervising staff, developing community relations, and ensuring quality programming for students.

Responsibilities
Follows and enforces all Colorado Department of Early Childhood licensing requirements
Assists to create and implement quality lesson plans for every day the program is in operation
Assists to plan and facilitate small and large group activities that are developmentally appropriate. Provide a safe, nurturing, environment conducive to the growth and development of each student with readily accessible, age appropriate materials
Works directly and actively supervises and engages with students during times they are present in the program
Assists to oversee the day-to-day operation of the program such as preparing materials and toys, student discipline, addressing parent complaints, daily attendance, proper food handling and sanitation practices, tending to student’s personal needs, etc
Regularly scheduled to open and close the program before and after school
Assists the program director with supervision of program staff
Assists to plan and attend monthly director meetings and principal meetings as requested
Creates and implements activities and field trips for full day programming
Promotes and markets the program for before and after care and full days
Assists program director to conduct monthly staff meetings with program staff
Exhibits excellent communication with parents, students, school staff, district staff and co-workers
Attend and participate in professional development trainings as required by licensing and district
Assist to maintain up-to-date staff files to meet licensing requirements
Perform other duties as assigned or requested
Qualification
Required
Criminal background check and fingerprinting required for hire
The Before and After School Assistant Director must be age 21 or over
A four-year college degree with such majors as recreation, outdoor education, education with a specialty in art, elementary or early childhood education, or a subject in the human services field
An associate degree or sixty (60) semester credit hours from an accredited college or university and three (3) months (455 hours) of experience in the care and supervision of four (4) or more children over the ages of four (4) years who are not related to the individual
Twenty-one (21) months (3,185 hours) of experience in the care and supervision of four (4) or more children over the ages of four (4) years who are not related to the individual and one of the following qualifications: (1) Completion of six (6) semester hours, from a regionally accredited college or university; or (2) Completion of forty (40) clock hours of training in course work applicable to school-age children within the first nine months in the director position. The 40 clock hours of training cannot include any of the required trainings as listed in rule section 2.508
A current early childhood professional credential level II (2) or higher in version 3.0 as determined by the Department based on its Early Childhood Professional
Verification of qualifications must be in the employee's Staff Records File
Each year, June 1 through May 31, the Assistant Director must complete at least 15 clock hours of training
Experience in a paid child care program, para-educator experience, or any licensed teaching experience
The Assistant Director must demonstrate an ability and interest in working with school age children
Thorough and current knowledge of all aspects of childcare
Strong leadership and management skills
Excellent problem solving and decision-making ability
Excellent written and oral communication skills
Computer skills
Complete all required training as required by licensing
Current CPR/First Aid Certification or ability to obtain within 30 days
Light work strength level (lifting or carrying up to 25 pounds)
Works both indoors and outdoors
Typically a loud noise level
Occasional lifting, pulling, and/or pushing
Frequent bending, reaching, climbing
