Responsibilities
Administer third-party software Avalara, to ensure sales/use tax compliance, business registrations and timely filings in all required jurisdictions for multiple legal entities
Prepare all information needed for tax service to complete income tax provisions, filings and estimated payments for multiple legal entities. This includes state and local apportionment workpapers
Prepare all other taxes, such as personal property tax returns and unclaimed property liabilities
Ensure all business registration and tax license requirements for state and local jurisdictions are maintained
Continue proactive review of nexus exposure for multiple legal entities based on new activities, considering state and local regulations, to ensure ongoing compliance
Prepare recurring and adjusting journal entries and reconcile related tax accounts in the general ledger
Research and prepare recommendations on tax compliance issues
Respond to all tax notices in a timely manner and support tax-related audits
Support ongoing integration and synergies for newly acquired entities, including full integration of tax and accounting operations

Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in accounting and at least 5 years of relevant experience in a mid-size growing organization; or an acceptable combination of education and experience
Knowledge of GAAP and experience reconciling general ledger accounts
Highly motivated to research complex sales/use tax and related tax issues and effectively communicate findings both verbally and in writing to management
Self-starter with strong organizational and time management skills, detail-oriented, self-directed and able to handle multiple priorities with demanding timeframes
Demonstrated ability to lead and motivate through collaboration with others and to focus on achieving business goals
Qualified candidates for this role will be required to complete a video questionnaire as part of our hiring process
Preferred
CPA license is preferred
Advanced knowledge of multi-state sales/use tax return preparation, compliance, and research preferred
NetSuite and Avalara experience a plus
