Financial Reporting Manager
CFS is a well-respected global leadership advisory firm, and they are seeking a Financial Reporting Manager to lead and support financial statement preparation and manage technical accounting areas. Responsibilities
Lead and support monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statement preparation in accordance with U.S. GAAP
Manage technical accounting areas including leases, goodwill, equity valuation, stock‑based compensation, impairments, and other complex topics
Own consolidated and statutory audit support; partner with external auditors and ensure timely completion of all PBC requests
Strengthen internal controls across reporting and technical accounting processes; help drive SOX readiness
Conduct research and draft technical accounting memos on complex transactions (revenue, equity, M&A, debt/equity arrangements)
Monitor evolving GAAP guidance and lead implementation of new accounting standards
Handle equity accounting, including valuation coordination, equity modifications, and related disclosures
Support M&A transactions including purchase accounting, valuation analysis, earnout accounting, and post‑acquisition integration
Design and implement internal controls over equity, business combinations, and technical accounting areas
Partner cross‑functionally with Legal, FP&A, HR, and business leaders to ensure accurate accounting and strategic alignment
Provide clear, concise communication of complex topics to non‑accounting stakeholders
Mentor staff, support skill development, and contribute to a high‑performance team culture
Drive process improvements to enhance efficiency, reporting accuracy, and scalability
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
CPA required
6–10 years of progressive experience in public accounting or public/private mix
Strong technical accounting background with proven experience drafting memos and leading complex analyses
Hands‑on experience with consolidated financial statements and supporting schedules
Excellent communication, interpersonal, and project management skills
Sharp, engaging, and personable—strong executive presence
Thrives in a fast‑paced environment with frequent ad hoc projects and changing priorities
Preferred
MBA or advanced degree preferred
Prefer candidates who have served both public and private clients if coming directly from public accounting
Advanced Excel skills; experience with OCC or similar consolidation tools preferred
