Responsibilities
Directs daily transportation, hauling, and support operations while ensuring regulatory compliance, environmental protection, and high‑quality customer service
Monitors operational metrics, identifies performance gaps, and drives improvements in processes, procedures, and service delivery
Contributes to budgeting, P&L reviews, and resource‑allocation planning to meet financial targets and optimize labor, equipment, and maintenance utilization
Leads incident investigations and ensures appropriate follow‑up through training, corrective actions, documentation, and safety program enforcement
Supports workforce management through hiring input, coaching, performance evaluations, disciplinary actions, and development of both short‑ and long‑term operational goals
Builds strong relationships with municipal agencies and internal teams, fostering collaboration, resolving employee‑relations issues, and promoting a positive, team‑oriented culture
Qualification
Required
Brings an associate degree (or equivalent experience) with several years in transportation, construction, or waste‑services environments, plus five years of broad management experience
Strong leader with proven ability to direct teams, delegate effectively, and motivate, coach, and counsel staff
Skilled in project management, resource planning, process analysis, and making data‑driven recommendations to improve operations
Well‑versed in DOT and OSHA regulations, with solid understanding of waste‑industry practices and the ability to manage multiple priorities under pressure
Highly organized communicator with strong analytical skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office tools for reporting, analysis, and information sharing
Must have a valid Driver's License
