Responsibilities
Lead and manage multiple advanced welding projects — from concept to completion — optimizing welding procedures (MIG, TIG, SMAW, robotic welding, resistance welding)
Provide technical leadership and coaching to junior engineers, maintenance technicians, and shop associates
Perform root cause failure analysis and implement corrective actions to ensure quality and reliability
Collaborate cross-functionally with design, manufacturing, and quality teams to integrate welding considerations in product development
Ensure compliance with AWS, ASME, ISO codes, and safety/environmental regulations
Drive continuous improvement initiatives leveraging Lean and Six Sigma methodologies
Stay at the forefront of welding technology trends to innovate and maintain competitive advantage
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Welding Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Metallurgy, or related field
5+ years' experience with robotic and manual welding processes including MIG, TIG, ARC, Plasma, resistance welding
NDE Level I (CAWI) or Level II required
Strong project management skills and ability to manage multiple capital projects effectively
Proficient in AutoCAD, Creo, and Microsoft Office tools
Exceptional communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills
Preferred
Master's degree in Welding Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Metallurgy, or related field
Certified Welding Engineer (CWE) or Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) preferred
Experience with Lean, Six Sigma (Black/Green/Lean Belt) a plus
