Engineering Student Assistant I-III (Lodi Energy Center)

Responsibilities

Perform a variety of duties involving general engineering principles in the fields of mechanical and electrical engineering, including gathering, compiling, tabulating, analyzing, and reporting statistical data, and assisting in research projects, special reports, and special projects
This position will compile requests for proposals and bid documents, and update and organize electronic and hard-copy drawings and construction documents
This is a great internship to acquire a working knowledge of department practices, procedures, equipment, and organizational systems
Perform related work as required

Qualification

Required

Academic status at an accredited college or university taking courses as a full-time student leading to a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering with a minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA
Completion of some intermediate or advanced upper-division coursework (i.e. thermodynamics, basic circuits, etc.)
General engineering methodologies and industry principles in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering
Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Outlook
Strong organizational and good housekeeping habits
Ability to communicate in clear, concise, and professional ways, both orally and in writing
Ability to collect, compile, analyze, interpret, and present statistical data
Ability to work independently and take ownership of assigned tasks
Ability to be flexible and willing to accept a variety of new and interdisciplinary projects
Ability to work outdoors as needed, in varying weather conditions, walk up and down steep staircases, and climb ladders

Preferred

Knowledge of AutoCAD or similar computer-aided design program is desired, but not required
