Executive Vice President of Accounting & Finance (CFO)
East 57th Street Partners is a Series A+ private equity–backed SaaS company entering its next phase of scale. They are seeking an Executive Vice President of Accounting & Finance (CFO) to serve as both a hands-on financial operator and a strategic partner to the Founder & CEO, blending day-to-day accounting ownership with forward-looking financial strategy.
Responsibilities
Own and lead the monthly, quarterly, and annual close process, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting
Maintain and optimize financial operations within QuickBooks, including system improvements, process design, and reporting enhancements
Oversee AP, AR, payroll, revenue recognition, and general ledger integrity
Ensure GAAP compliance and readiness for future audit requirements
Lead SaaS metrics tracking and reporting (ARR, MRR, churn, CAC, LTV, gross margin, cohort analysis)
Build scalable processes around subscription billing, deferred revenue, and revenue recognition
Develop KPI dashboards to support executive decision-making
Serve as a strategic thought partner to the Founder & CEO, helping guide pricing strategy, growth investments, and operating leverage decisions
Lead budgeting, forecasting, and long-range financial planning
Support board reporting and investor communications with clear, data-driven insights
Assist with capital planning, fundraising support, and financial modeling for growth initiatives
Build and scale the finance function, including future team hiring and structure design
Establish internal controls, financial policies, and reporting cadences appropriate for a growing PE-backed company
Evaluate and implement systems and tools as the company grows beyond current infrastructure
Qualification
Required
Proven CFO or senior finance leader experience within a SaaS or subscription-based business
Strong background in hands-on accounting with the ability to personally drive the close process
Deep understanding of SaaS financial metrics and revenue models
Experience partnering directly with a Founder/CEO in a high-growth environment
Comfortable operating in lean environments where building precedes delegation
Excellent communicator with the ability to translate financial data into strategic insight
Preferred
Prior experience in a Series A, Series B, or early private equity–backed company strongly preferred
Strong systems orientation; experience improving or transitioning from QuickBooks to more scalable platforms over time is a plus
