Public Programs/Events Intern
China Institute of America is an internationally-renowned U.S. nonprofit organization dedicated to deepening the world’s understanding of China through programs in various fields. The Public Programs Intern will assist the programs team in planning and implementing events, gaining hands-on experience in event planning, research, and marketing.

Responsibilities
Provide general administrative and cross-team support
Track event data, budgets, and expenses
Conduct research on program topics, speakers, and partners
Manage event platforms (Eventbrite and Zoom) and provide tech support during programs
Support the Programs Team with event planning and execution, including logistics and day-of coordination
Edit and produce video content, including creating short clips, translations, and subtitles
Assist with creating program materials and promotional content (event descriptions, flyers, social media posts, WeChat articles)
Qualification
Required
Excellent communication and writing skills
Strong organizational skills with keen attention to detail
Ability to take initiative, solve problems proactively, and work independently
Interest in Chinese culture and studies; Chinese language skills highly preferred
Familiarity with online platforms such as Zoom and Eventbrite for event setup and management
Knowledge of social media platforms and interest in content creation (video, design, and digital media)
Strong computer skills, including experience with video editing (CapCut, Final Cut Pro), design tools (Adobe Suite, Canva), and Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
Prior experience in program and event management, preferably at nonprofit or cultural organizations
Current enrollment in a bachelor's or master's degree program (background in nonprofit management, international studies, or related field preferred)
Preferred
Chinese language skills highly preferred
