Responsibilities

Develop an accurate GM North America (GMNA) Material cost forecast by coordinating within GPSC Finance and regional (GMNA FP&A) business partners with a focus on key forecast drivers. Accounts included in the forecast are Material at Standard and various Material Over/Under accounts
Collaborate with team members within and outside of GPSC Finance (GMNA FP&A, GPD, etc…) to understand key material cost forecast inputs
Develop monthly material cost walks drawing out key business drivers (e.g. GPSC Performance, Cell cost changes, etc…). Walks completed are forecast vs budget, current vs prior forecast, current forecast vs prior year, and Plan to Plan (9+3 budget vs 0+12 budget). Cost walks are done – in total, by ICE and by EV
Deep dive vehicle per unit variances that exceed expectations to determine drivers for variance
Collaborate with GMNA on bridge callouts to ensure alignment with GPSC variances
Develop and present presentation materials covering material cost
Support monthly GMNA FP&A and CFP&A forecast reviews
Seek opportunities to enhance reporting with emphasis on insightful information
Supports the Tariff Crib Sheet for Indirect tariffs – working with GPSC operations (APV by country) and customs (regulatory changes)
Support Future of Finance requirement gathering, testing, and workshops related to material cost forecasting and analysis
Special projects as required (e.g. GPD EV Profitability analysis)

Required

4+ years of operating finance experience
A bachelor's degree in business, finance, economics or engineering. MBA preferred but not required
Strong analytical skills. Fundamental knowledge of financial reporting and analysis
Basic knowledge of financial statement flow of data and connections: such as balance sheet (e.g. inventory) to net income (e.g. Cost of Goods Sold) and cash flows
Familiarity with basic accounting principles
Critical thinking, inquisitive mind and strong learning agility
Ability to analyze and synthesize complex issues in-order to provide insight and understand how metrics drive the right business decisions
Advanced Excel skills coupled with strong modeling skills
Ability to learn & adapt to new software platforms required – prior experience with Hyperion based systems (such as eGPPS) and/or CPURAM is a plus
Accurate, timely and reliable reporting
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Structure presentations in straightforward, efficient manner that tells a story
Communicate key issues for action/decision (“the 30 second rule”)
Comfortable in presenting data to various levels of the organization
