Lead HIM Technician

Responsibilities
Scans patient documents to ensure electronic medical record accuracy
Prepares inpatient and patient medical records
Assigns correct document barcode identification numbers
Analyzes inpatient/outpatient medical records and accurately inputs information into system
Obtains, verifies, prepares discharged medical records and ensures accuracy with chart labeling and patient information
Performs qualitative analysis of inpatient/outpatient medical records and accurately inputs deficiency data into system
Prepares reports, special project and chart auditing as requested
Processes requests for release of information in accordance to hospital policies and state and federal regulations
Retrieves charts for delivery to units and or reviews/audits and outside storage as appropriate
Retrieves transcribed/scanned documents as needed
Performs other job-related duties as assigned
Qualification
Required
High School Education/GED or equivalent: Required
Preferred
Associate's/Technical Degree or equivalent combination of education/related experience: Preferred
Five years' relevant experience: Preferred
