Information Technology Operations Manager
Robert Half is seeking an Information Technology Operations Manager to lead their IT team and deliver exceptional customer-facing IT service. The role involves overseeing daily IT operations, managing technical projects, and ensuring alignment with centralized IT teams while maintaining strong relationships with practice stakeholders.
Responsibilities
Serve as the primary liaison between practice leadership and central technical support teams
Communicate and track emergency or escalated issues in a timely and effective manner
Lead and manage technical projects that support practice objectives
Oversee day-to-day IT operations, including escalated ticket resolution, end‑user support, and technology-related initiatives
Provide superior (“white glove”) customer support and respond to requests related to computer systems and technology issues
Improve and standardize IT processes and procedures in collaboration with centralized service delivery teams
Deliver updates and feedback to practice leadership throughout the lifecycle of IT projects and major technology issues
Ensure service processes, SLAs, performance metrics, and quality standards are aligned with central IT expectations
Partner with leadership to research, evaluate, recommend, and deploy technology solutions
Support clinical technology initiatives, including new clinic openings and similar projects
Perform additional duties as needed to support the mission and operational goals of the organization
Qualification
Required
Strong leadership and customer-facing ability, with the capacity to supervise a team of 5 technicians and deliver consistent “white glove” service across multiple practices
On-site presence and travel flexibility, working primarily on-site in Owings Mills, MD, with travel to additional practices in MD, DC, AZ, and TN
Balanced operational and project management capability, serving as the primary escalation point while overseeing both daily IT operations and practice expansion initiatives
Relevant industry or environment experience, ideally from an MSP or healthcare setting, with enough technical depth to guide Tier 1–3 analysts (approximately 30% hands-on, 70% leadership and project-focused)
Strong written and verbal communication skills across all levels of staff, leadership, and technical teams
Experience as a technical leader with the ability to design and deliver effective solutions; healthcare experience preferred
Understanding of HIPAA or comparable security and privacy frameworks
Critical thinking and the ability to adapt systems and processes as needed
Demonstrated experience with incident analysis, problem management, and process improvement
Ability to identify service gaps and step in as necessary to support the team
Strong technical knowledge of hardware, software, and networking
High-level understanding of computer systems, telecommunications, security, networking, and systems administration
Knowledge of practice management principles
Excellent leadership, decision-making, and prioritization skills under pressure
Strong technical expertise in: Active Directory administration, Group Policy design and troubleshooting, Virtual environments, M365 administration, and Microsoft server technologies (VMWare, Remote Desktop Services, etc.), VOIP systems (experience with Zoom Phone is a plus), PowerShell or similar scripting/automation tools
Minimum of 5 years of progressively responsible experience in technology support
At least 3 years of experience in IT leadership or management
Preferred
Bachelor's degree in Information Systems or a related field preferred
Healthcare experience is a plus
