Responsibilities
Utilize computer-based diagnostic equipment, service/parts manuals to analyze and correct vehicle problems
Perform maintenance, inspection, and repairs of the following vehicle components:
Engine and drive train
Computerized electronic ignition
Fuel/emissions systems
Suspension and steering related components in the front and rear drive vehicles
Air conditioning, heating, and cooling systems
Brake systems
Perform and diagnose minor road repairs and tow disabled vehicles in compliance with Maryland Vehicle Law and Division policies
Perform test drive on all vehicles to confirm proper completion of repairs
Enter edits and complete work orders using the current computerized database
Willingly and cooperatively performs tasks and duties which may not be specifically listed in the class specification or position description, but which are within the general occupational category and responsibility level typically associated with the employee’s class for work
Qualification
Required
High School diploma or equivalent (GED)
One (1) year of experience/training in the mechanical field servicing, repairing, and performing preventative maintenance on a variety of light to medium motorized vehicles equipment
Obtain and maintain a valid Department of Transportation Medical Certification Card
Maintain a valid driver's license with six (6) points or less
