Senior Analyst, Underwriting
Checkout.com is a global payments company that powers billions of transactions every year. They are seeking a Senior Analyst in Underwriting to join their US team in Atlanta, responsible for underwriting enterprise customer applications and conducting financial analysis to assess risks and recommendations.

Responsibilities
Leveraging experience, you will conduct business model analysis in-line with internal policy guidelines and apply complex evaluation techniques to achieve the desired results for complex deals
Conduct proficient analysis of P&L, balance sheet and cash flow statements of complex business models and demonstrate a competent understanding of accounting principles
Competent in underwriting high risk lines of business including travel, subscriptions, ticketing and events, securities dealers, gambling, amongst others
Prepare persuasive summaries to assess micro and macro risks, mitigants and make balanced recommendations to present to management and the Credit Risk Committee
Represent Underwriting in attending customer calls and meetings alongside Sales or Account Management
Approve teammates’ credit submissions in line with delegated approval authority
Identify operational issues and areas for improvement, and make detailed recommendations on how to improve the merchant onboarding experience
Preferable if candidate possesses industry expertise, and can act as a subject matter expert in a particular industry(ies)
Foster a culture of collaboration with key internal stakeholders, in particular Sales, and first and second line Risk personnel and Legal
Act as a mentor to junior team members through training initiatives and credit approvals
Contribute to Underwriting driven projects as required
Qualification
Required
Strong Underwriter with a background in payments and/or financial analysis
Conduct business model analysis in-line with internal policy guidelines
Apply complex evaluation techniques to achieve desired results for complex deals
Conduct proficient analysis of P&L, balance sheet and cash flow statements of complex business models
Demonstrate a competent understanding of accounting principles
Competent in underwriting high risk lines of business including travel, subscriptions, ticketing and events, securities dealers, gambling, amongst others

Possess excellent written and interpersonal communication skills
Experience within Customer Due Diligence (KYC and KYB)

A highly analytical team player who loves to evaluate financial and business risks
Preferred
Preferable if candidate possesses industry expertise, and can act as a subject matter expert in a particular industry(ies)
Desirable if you have coached, mentored or led teams in the past
Domain expertise within the payments industry will be preferable
