Energy Contracts Counsel
The Sustainable Partnership is a fast-growing, international business seeking an In-House Contracts Counsel to join its legal team during a period of significant growth. This role involves drafting, reviewing, and negotiating a wide range of commercial agreements while collaborating closely with various stakeholders across the business.
Responsibilities
Drafting, reviewing, and negotiating commercial agreements such as MSAs, SOWs, vendor and supplier contracts, consulting agreements, and project related contracts
Advising internal stakeholders on deal structure, risk allocation, and contractual strategy
Identifying key legal and commercial issues and proposing pragmatic, business focused solutions
Supporting procurement and supplier contracting, including onboarding, template development, and negotiation support
Helping improve contract processes, guidance, and internal playbooks as contracting volume scales
Coordinating with external counsel where specialist input is required
Supporting broader legal matters as needed in a growing in house function
Qualification
Required
Qualified attorney with active bar admission in at least one US jurisdiction
Typically 5 -10 years' post-qualification experience in commercial contracting
Strong drafting and negotiation skills, with experience managing multiple contracts in parallel
Comfortable advising non legal stakeholders and operating as a trusted business partner
Able to balance legal risk with commercial realities
Thrives in a high-growth, high-urgency environment with evolving priorities
