The US Army Corps of Engineers is seeking a Supervisory Architect to serve as the Section Chief within the Architectural Section, Design Branch, in the Engineering Division at the Louisville District Office. The role involves managing architectural and master planning for new construction, rehabilitation, and renovation of facilities, while providing supervision over a multi-disciplined staff.

Responsibilities
Manage architectural and master planning of new construction, rehabilitation, improvements, and renovation of existing facilities, ranging from those which are of a conventional nature to special purpose projects
Develop and organize resources to meet an ever increasing and complex in-house architectural and master planning program
Exercise administrative and technical supervision over a multi-disciplined staff of permanent employees, and as many temporary and contract employees as are necessary to accomplish the work of the section
Coordinate the preparation and obtain approval of plans for new construction and rehabilitation/renovation of facilities, whether to be accomplished entirely by District forces or supplemented by contract A-E's
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree (or higher degree) in architecture or in a related field that included 60 semester hours of course work in architecture or related disciplines of which at least (1) 30 semester hours were in architectural design, and (2) 6 semester hours were in each of the following: structural technology, properties of materials and methods of construction, and environmental control systems
College-level education, training, and/or technical experience that furnished (1) a thorough knowledge of the arts and sciences underlying professional architecture, and (2) a good understanding, both theoretical and practical, of the architectural principles, methods, and techniques and their applications to the design and construction or improvement of buildings
One year of specialized experience which includes serving as principal advisor and consultant on Architectural matters associated with the architectural and interior design, construction and operations and maintenance of military and civil works facilities
