Director of Finance

Responsibilities

Oversee construction accounting processes including percentage-of-completion revenue recognition
Lead preparation and review of WIP schedules, job cost reporting, margin analysis, and project profitability
Ensure accurate project financial reporting including change orders, cost-to-complete, and billing status
Strengthen internal controls, accounting policies, and financial reporting procedures
Drive improvements in close process and reporting timelines
Build and lead budgeting, forecasting, and monthly financial reporting
Develop financial models to support growth planning, staffing, project pipeline, and margin improvement
Provide financial decision support and scenario planning for leadership
Establish meaningful KPIs and dashboards for business performance tracking
Improve financial visibility across project execution and operational performance
Own cash flow forecasting and provide proactive working capital recommendations
Partner with project teams and leadership on billing cycles, collections, and liquidity planning
Identify opportunities to improve cash conversion and financial predictability
Lead and develop the accounting/finance team (currently six team members split between Thornton and Pueblo)
Coach team members, improve accountability, and implement scalable processes
Elevate the overall sophistication of the finance organization to support growth

Required

8+ years of progressive finance/accounting experience (construction/industrial services/manufacturing strongly preferred)
Demonstrated expertise in: Percentage-of-completion accounting
WIP reporting
Job costing / project accounting
Proven experience leading FP&A, forecasting, and financial modeling
Strong cash flow forecasting and working capital management experience
Experience leading teams and improving performance/processes
In-office 5 days a week

Preferred

Background in industrial construction, engineering services, or project-based contracting environments
Experience implementing process improvements, reporting enhancements, or finance transformation initiatives
Ability to partner effectively with operations leaders and project teams
