Desktop Support Specialist
Quantum World Technologies Inc. is seeking a Desktop Support Specialist to provide on-site support for desktop and PC depot operations. The role involves troubleshooting hardware and software issues, managing inventory, and ensuring compliance with security standards.
Responsibilities
Perform system imaging and deployment using enterprise tools such as SCCM, MDT, or Intune
Install, configure, and troubleshoot Windows OS and standard enterprise applications for end users
Handle break‑fix activities by managing walk-in or ticket-based hardware/software issues
Maintain and update depot inventory, including spare parts, loaner devices, and returned equipment
Coordinate warranty and vendor repairs with OEMs (Dell, HP, Lenovo, etc.)
Support device lifecycle activities, including asset tagging, device refresh, and decommissioning
Perform hardware quality checks and preventive maintenance before redeployment
Manage asset tracking and documentation within IT asset management tools and ticketing systems (ServiceNow, Remedy, etc.)
Assist users with login issues, network connectivity, printers, and other end‑user technology
Ensure compliance with security standards, including device encryption, antivirus, and patching policies
Provide timely customer support within defined SLAs and maintain accurate logs of all repairs and technical actions
Support hardware refresh programs and large‑scale deployments
Qualification
Required
Desktop support, IT depot operations, or field engineering
Knowledge of Windows 10/11, hardware troubleshooting, and device imaging tools
Lift, move, and install IT equipment
L2/L3 expertise

Preferred
Experience with Endpoint Management tools
Familiarity with imaging automation
Experience supporting conference room technology
Knowledge of mobile device support
Printer and MFP support skills
Understanding of ITIL processes
