Director of Product, Separately Managed Accounts

Responsibilities
Program-level agile leadership: facilitate planning, cross‑team alignment, and system/solution demos; use flow and quality metrics to inform decisions and forecast outcomes
Business architecture & requirements: lean on various SMEs to connect investment, trading, compliance, and operations workflows to product and technical epics; define feature priorities and acceptance criteria with a robust KPI framework
Stakeholder alignment: build trusted partnerships across product, engineering, operations, risk, data, and other partners; manage trade‑offs and negotiate scope to land value on schedule
Partner with product and engineering leaders to ensure architecture aligns with the SMA and broader BlackRock technology roadmaps; influence platform direction via deep knowledge of workflows, personas, and data structures
Translate SMA strategic vision into actionable architecture, mapping business workflows to technical Epics and Features
Change management at scale: prepare operating teams for adoption (process, controls, training) and ensure production readiness and run‑state ownership
Continuous improvement: codify program standards, templates, and playbooks (artifacts, cadences, metrics) and roll them across SMA initiatives
Qualification
Required
10+ years in financial services leading cross‑functional programs at scale (product + engineering), with direct experience in SMA technology, and portfolio lifecycle (portfolio construction, trading, compliance, post‑trade)
Ability to translate business vision into architecture strategy, roadmaps, and structured objectives
Strong commercial intuition—able to prioritize based on business value, risk, scale, and industry trends
Mastery of agile approach to SDLC (PI planning, metrics‑driven delivery, release planning, scaled frameworks)
Executive presence with excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills; comfortable influencing at all levels
Success in building and delivering complex platform products in a matrixed organization
Delivery of compelling presentations to diverse audiences (from technical teams to commercial groups to senior executives) ensuring clarity, relevance, and impact
Experience working with engineering and design teams using Agile/Scrum methodologies
Bachelor's degree required; advanced degree (MBA, CFA, etc.) a plus

Knowledge of BlackRock's Aladdin platform is preferred
