Responsibilities
Develop and implement thermal management strategies for high-power components including batteries, inverters, electric motors, and power electronics using tools such as ANSYS, GT-SUITE, and STAR-CCM+
Perform thermal simulations to evaluate and improve cooling and heating system performance under various operating conditions, including high-speed driving, rapid acceleration, and charging scenarios
Collaborate closely with powertrain, electrical, and controls teams to integrate thermal solutions into overall vehicle architecture, ensuring system compatibility and efficiency
Analyze heat transfer and cooling requirements for components such as radiators, heat exchangers, and HVAC systems in electric and hybrid vehicles
Optimize battery thermal management systems to ensure consistent performance, extend battery life, and maximize vehicle range across different environmental conditions
Validate and correlate simulation models with physical test data, refining models to improve prediction accuracy
Prepare detailed technical reports documenting simulation results, test correlations, and design recommendations to enhance thermal performance and component reliability
Research and evaluate advanced cooling technologies, including liquid cooling systems, phase change materials, and thermal insulation solutions
Use simulation expertise to correlate virtual performance to physical results and support virtual performance sign-off
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree (BTech) in Mechanical Engineering
Strong understanding of thermal management and heat transfer principles
Proficiency with ANSYS, GT-SUITE, and STAR-CCM+
Experience correlating CAE simulations with physical testing data
Knowledge of thermal systems used in EV and hybrid vehicle platforms
Strong analytical, documentation, and cross-functional communication skills
Preferred
Master's degree (MS) in Mechanical Engineering
